July 24, 2013 at 2:32 pm

For the past 12 years, So. Cal. artist Just Kibbe has been obsessed with figuring out creative ways to put poetry in front of people who would never pick up a poetry book. Just is interested in engaging with communities to see what others think and feel when they encounter art and literature in one.

Just’s poetry car was turned into a Community Art/Poetry Project at LitFest Pasadena 2013, where visitors wrote poems on the body of the automobile.  Over 50 individuals have written on the car thus far, but there is room for more!  Come to CAR SLAM and add your poem to the car.

Just Kibbe teaches generative and evaluative creative writing workshops to all ages: elementary, high school, college and working professionals. He is also the managing editor of The Pasadena Foothills Magazine, an active member of Poets On Site, and a past-president and founding board member of Indelible Ink: A Vanguard Literary Performance Series.  Just Kibbe’s poems, essays, cartoons and art are widely published in journals and magazines around the world.
