LIGHT Up the Night with Art Slam, March 7
Art Slam will have many interactive art installations next Thursday, March 7, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., in Old Town Newhall. Before all the action at 4 p.m., the Old Town Newhall Library has a program for tweens to design solar wood carvings using magnifying glass, demonstrated by artist Brian Chandler, known as Solar B.
For a sneak peek at one of the interactive LIGHT art installations, check out this clip by artist Ben Guerrette of the Motion Sketch. This interactive video installation invites participants to produce flowing imagery from the movement of their hands.
Stroll down Main Street to see a performance by Lily Wilson and an outdoor silent film screening of “The General” at the Railroad Café. Stop into The Vu Bar and Lounge to catch the UV Art Show by artist group Odius.
Check out Visual Terrain, an award-winning lighting design firm specializing in architecture, attractions, and the arts, as they transform the exterior of the Old Town Newhall Library with specialty lighting effects.
Stop to talk with the artists from the Museum of Neon Art, Linda Price and Michael Flechtner, whom will be exhibiting their neon artwork.
