Tricycle RACE!

Tonight, SENSES is throwing an after party in celebration of Bike to Work Day and Amgen Tour of CA with ‘Rock the Bike’, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., in Old Town Newhall.  Ride down to Main Street to catch the Mountain Bike Ride with Newhall Bicycle at 5:00 p.m., then stay for The Skinny Little Twits, gourmet food trucks, tricycle races, and to celebrate with other bicycling fans

Take photos of the many cycling events happening next week in the City of Santa Clarita during the biggest bicycle commute in California – Bike to Work Week.  Hashtag your photos with #BikeSantaClarita and post them to Twitter and Instagram to win bicycling swag.

Chuck Pontius Memorial Criterium
Cyclists may register on Sunday, May 12 to compete in the Chuck Pontius Memorial Criterium with the Santa Clarita Velo and Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. This .7 mile loop is a timed bicycle race for each age category.
Monday, May 13
Amgen Tour of California Viewing Party
The City of Santa Clarita and Local Organizing Committee for the Amgen Tour of California will be hosting a free viewing party in anticipation of the world’s top cyclists heading to Santa Clarita. The viewing party will start at 7:30 p.m. at Salt Creek Grille with live race coverage beginning at 8:00 p.m. Come for the raffle, which includes great prizes, such as signed rider jerseys, limited-edition Santa Clarita Trail Packs, and more.
Tuesday, May 14
Amgen Tour of California
Stage 3 Finish - Lifestlye Festival (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Amgen Tour of California – Breakaway Mile
The Amgen Tour of California will feature many of the top cyclists in the world including Tour de France and Olympic competitors. The Stage 3 Finish of the race will end on Magic Mountain Parkway between Citrus and Auto Center Drive (northeast corner of the Westfield Valencia Town Center). The thrilling finish of the race will include a large Lifestyle Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The estimated time of the finish is 3:48 p.m. and will be immediately followed by the presentation of the yellow leader jersey.
Wednesday, May 15
Amgen Tour of California
Stage 4 Start (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
The Stage 4 Start of the Amgen Tour of California will take place on Town Center Drive at Westfield Valencia Town Center. The festivities include an excellent opportunity to get autographs from riders prior to them racing out of Santa Clarita en route to Santa Barbara.
Thursday, May 16
SENSES – Rock the Bike
May marks National Bike Month and SENSES can’t wait to be a part of the celebration with ‘Rock the Bike’ on Thursday, May 16, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., in Old Town Newhall. Ride on down to Main Street to catch a live Rock n’ Roll performance by The Skinny Little Twits, gourmet food trucks, and celebrate with other bicycling fans.

On Thursday, May 16, SENSES is excited to for The Skinny Little Twits to perform at the ROCK the Bike street party, on Main Street, in Old Town Newhall.

Over the past twenty-two years, The Skinny Little Twits have opened for National acts and have head-lined concerts for various cities, festivals, fairs, corporations, casinos, and venues performing a diverse repertoire of songs appealing to audiences of all ages in “The Ultimate Tribute to the Legends of Classic Rock”. Complete with a line-up of world class musicians, The Skinny Little Twits use their strong vocal power, including four lead vocalists and melodic four part harmonies, audience engaging showmanship, and “tight” professional musicianship to authentically recreate the legendary music and concert experience of Journey, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Tom Petty, Rod Stewart, Rush, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, and many others.

One Less Car – Bike to Work

On Thursday, May 16, businesses in the City of Santa Clarita are encouraged to participate in a friendly competition to see which employer can get the most employees to Bike to Work.  After supporting your co-workers in the Bike to Work challenge, bike over to SENSES on Main Street, starting at 7:00 pm, for ‘Rock the Bike’ to keep the bicycle fun going all night long.

Bike to Work Day will take place during the biggest bicycle commute in California – Bike to Work Week five bicycle pit stops will be available for the cyclists on Santa Clarita trails around town. Riders will also have the opportunity to receive great prizes from both the City and Metro!
